ShipMaster Privacy Policy

ShipMaster ("the App") provides postcode-based shipping rate calculation and shipping rule management ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account through Shopify's secure APIs, including:

• Store information — your store name, domain, and location data needed to configure shipping
• Product information — product titles, tags, variants, and weights used to match products to shipping rules and product groups
• Shipping configuration — shipping profiles, zones, carrier services, and delivery settings
• Location data — fulfillment locations used for shipping rate calculations
• Checkout and cart data — shipping destination address (country, province, city, postal code), cart contents (product information, quantities, weights), and order totals transmitted during checkout to calculate shipping rates
• Validation settings — checkout validation rules configured through the App

Additionally, we collect the following types of information once you have installed the App:

• Shipping configuration you create — zones, product groups, shipping methods, workflows, rate assignments, and app settings you configure within the App
• Request logs — technical logs of carrier rate requests and responses used for troubleshooting (these logs do not include customer names, email addresses, or phone numbers)
• Session data — authentication session information required to operate the App securely

We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, or using the following technologies:

• Cookies — data files placed on your device that help maintain your authenticated session within the App. For more information about cookies and how to disable them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
• Log files — records of actions occurring within the App and carrier service, collecting data such as timestamps, request parameters, and response status for troubleshooting purposes

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Specifically, we use this information to:

• Calculate and return shipping rates at checkout based on your configured zones, methods, and conditions
• Store and manage your shipping rules, zones, and rate assignments
• Enforce checkout validation rules you configure (such as unshippable product restrictions)
• Communicate with you regarding the App and your account
• Optimize and improve the App's performance and reliability
• Troubleshoot issues using request logs

We do not use personal information for behavioural or targeted advertising.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share personal information in the following limited circumstances:

• External carrier services you configure — if you connect third-party carrier integrations within the App, shipping rate requests may be forwarded to those services according to your settings
• Hosting and infrastructure providers — we use third-party hosting services to store and process data necessary to operate the App
• Legal compliance — we may share information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights

Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you, or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to Australia and the United States, where our hosting infrastructure is located.

All merchants have the right to access, export, and delete the data we store about your store. You can export your shipping configuration from within the App, or delete all stored data by uninstalling the App or using the "Clear All Data" feature in Settings.

Data Retention

We retain your shipping configuration and app settings for as long as the App is installed on your store. Request logs are automatically deleted after 7 days. When you uninstall the App, all stored data associated with your store is deleted in response to Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks, unless and until you ask us to delete this information earlier.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
